So, yesterday, I was informed that the student registration is doing poorly this term. With an inability to advertise amongst other issues, the amount of enrollment has severely declined. It's a little discouraging to hear that after coming all this way, but I know I was sent here for a reason. Something good will happen all in His timing.
Around 3 p.m. yesterday, I subbed for a teacher who's been sick for almost a week now. Seeing that the enrollment is down and not many teenagers are currently attending, I only worked with one student. I guess you could say it was pretty much a one-on-one tutor session. We worked on grammar, pronunciation, and to practice speaking aloud, we read and even played a modified Heads Up.
I'm not sure when I'll be starting my own course. I often find myself praying for patience. I'm living in a different country. There are completely different lifestyles, mindsets, and perspectives. PATIENCE IS KEY right now.
Good news -- I get along just fine with the other missionaries/my housemates. Despite their frequent conversations in Tagalog, they make me laugh and they're the sweetest. PTL for that.
Below are some pictures of the living quarters. It's not much, but at least I have a little taste of home.
Here's to another day,
